What a Difference a Photograph Can Make
I recently had an order for a wedding cake with fondant drapes and handmade flowers. As often happens, I didn’t have time to photograph the finished cake. I was more concerned with the fact that it was raining and the delivery process might be a bit tricky. Fondant, water and humidity aren’t a good combination. A week or so later, I received an email from the wedding coordinator, Trisha Cranor of Working Brides, with some photographs of that particular wedding. Photographer Michael Connor from Connor Studios did a very lovely job photographing the day’s events and was kind enough to share his work with us. I didn’t recognize the cake when I first saw these photos. I did a double take! I love the amber glow which compliments the ivory color of the cake and flowers.

One of My New Favorite Things
Bridal season is here and nothing dresses up a cake like a beautiful cake stand. I recently came across a company that offers beautiful stands, sure to compliment any dessert . These unique ceramic pieces are made by Clara French Ceramiques. They offer a variety of styles and designs, and best of all, you can rent them. I love the droplets of glaze that adorn the edges. The pastel colors are very soft and appealing. I particularly like the idea of customizing a ceramic piece with the names of the newlywed couple, or perhaps a favorite expression or poem. I would recommend Clara French’s cake stands for just about any event where you’d want to highlight your cake with an elegant and personal touch.
